Petroleum Sector regulator V.K Sibal may not be considered for extension of at the Directorate General of Hydrocarbons (DGH). His term expires on October 31 said by the Government on Wednesday. The preliminary report of the Central Vigilance commission is believed to have found Prime facie substance in allegations that Sibal had favoured.

Sibal had on October23 applied for voluntary retriement from Oil India Ltd from where he had gone on lien to DGH in 2004. Failing an extension as the DGH, Sibal would have to return to OIL till his superannuation in 2011.
