The European Commission has approved Baxter International Inc’s Celvapan vaccine against H1NI flu, the company said on Wednesday. The positive rulling was expected after the European Medicines Agency recommended the vaccine last week.

European regulators earlier gave a green light to the first H1N1 swine flu vaccine from GlaxoSmithKline and Novartis. Government have been scrambling for vaccines to target the new H1N1 flu strain, ahead of a feared second wave of infection.
